| Pat Mosca Completes Production on New CD for Thrasher Records Artist
Former "Greg Kihn Band" keyboardist helps launch new artist in addition to scoring for internationally broadcast TV series CLAYTON, CA -- Veteran keyboard player Pat Mosca has just finished production on ten tracks for Bay Area pop singer Michael James' newest CD, Through The Rain, soon to be available on Thrasher Records. The product of Mosca's and James' years-long collaboration, the disc features masterful remixes of a full set of James' ballads and up-tempo songs. In addition to producing and recording the set, the former "Greg Kihn Band" keyboardist contributed his musical talent to the project, playing keyboards and guitar. The arrangements feature James' unique piano and vocal talents and are supplemented by the guitar playing of Del Burchett. Mosca, whose collaboration with Kihn led to appearances on such national TV shows as Saturday Night Live, MTV, Solid Gold and American Bandstand, brings a formidable musical resume to his vocation. Since leaving the band in the late 1980s, Mosca has worked with such rock luminaries as Ronnie Montrose, Joe Satriani, Eddie Money, and Creedence Clearwater Revival member Doug Clifford. Through The Rain is the third CD Mosca has produced, following up his earlier work on Del Burchett's Triton, and James Wright's solo disc for Alika Productions. More recently Mosca has been busy with a full complement of musical scoring duties, contributing original work to the weekly syndicated reality TV series Coast Guard, produced by San Jose's Tam Communications. The new commercial campaign for the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has also been highlighted by Mosca's remake of California Sun by the Riviera's. In addition, two television documentaries featuring his work are in post production. "Scoring a weekly television show has really allowed me to stretch my wings creatively," Mosca commented. "I'm enjoying the challenge of working with a variety of styles in every episode, for example in a single week, we might go from Louisiana swamp to rock 'n roll to Japanese music. It's very gratifying to see that the products we're creating are hitting their mark, nationally and internationally." Pat Mosca is head composer of Mosca Music, offering a full range of services including original music composition and scoring, sound design, and performance for broadcast and corporate television and live events. Production facilities are headquartered at 1542 N. El Camino Drive, Clayton, CA 94517, (510) 673-0119. For additional information, contact Lisa Adams at (408) 279-2400. (30)
